Democracy is something that we have lost in the US. However, I have a plan that will both give the power to the people, eliminate (or at least greatly reduce) lobbying and give people a greater role in the decision making process. I am, of course, referring to assemblies of the people.

Now, I am not advocating a building that will hold hundreds of thousands of people. Rather, the system will be modular. Assemblies will be created in relation to a person's zip code, with multiple assemblies existing within each zip code. These assemblies, composed of 10-12 individuals, will be responsible for the decision making of the city and country, passing their decisions to the governments of each and, in effect, taking over the legislative responsibilities of the government. Everyone will be able to belong to an assembly, and those who choose not to attend will simply look foolish when their voices are not considered in the decision-making process.
